Jon L. Breen

Jon L. Breen is one of the world's leading mystery critics. He has won two Edgar Allan Poe awards from the Mystery Writers of America, for What About Murder? (1981) and for his excellent study of legal novels, Novel Verdicts (1984). In addition, his coedited Synod of Sleuths, a collection of essays on clerical detectives, won the Anthony Boucher award as the best critical/biographical work in 1990. Hundreds of thousands of mystery readers rely on his reviews in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine each month. He is also the author of six notable mystery novels.
