This is the full and detailed view of The Perfect Murder, a "literary experiment" in which Tony Hillerman participated. The book's editor, Jack Hitt, asked five well-known mystery authors to contribute advice for a hypothetical "perfect murder" scenario. Published in 1991 by HarperCollins, the book also contains contributions by Lawrence Block, Sarah Caudwell, Peter Lovesey, and Donald E. Westlake, in addition to Tony Hillerman.
This is a hardcover book with dust jacket; jacket design and illustration are by Jon Weiman. This edition is identical to the first edition with the following exceptions:
- It does not have a clear plastic cover over the dust jacket.
- The front fold-out does not have the price printed in the upper right corner.
- The back fold-out contains "PRINTED IN USA" above the jacket design credit.
- The copyright page does not have the numeric series printed below the bottom rule of the Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data section.
