This is the full and detailed views of the covers of the 1975 Avon editions of Dance Hall of the Dead. The first two covers are for editions printed in the US. The primary differences between them consist of replacing the fuchsia banner on the first edition, which announces that the novel had been awarded the "Edgar Award for the best mystery novel of the year!" and the book's price: $1.95. The second US edition of the same year replaces the banner with a cartouche that includes an Edgar reference and a New York Times blurb. The price of the novel has changed as well, ringing in at $1.95.
The second two covers shown are editions printed in Canada. The first edition is a first Canadian printing, and replicates the American cartouche edition, replete with the figure of a Salamobia warrior kachina crouching in the midst of canyon country. The second cover is a complete redesign and includes an arrangement of objects both pertinent as well as irrelevant to the novel's plot.
