Dance Hall of the Dead [Limited Edition, hardback, 1991]

In 1991, the Armchair Detective Library published three runs of Tony Hillerman's 1973 novel Dance Hall of the Dead. This edition, with a red cloth cover and gold embossing on the front cover and spine, is an example of the Limited Edition, replete with a new introduction to the novel written by Hillerman himself. At the center of the front cover is an inset on-the-bias drawing of Hillerman. Beneath the image is a reproduction of Tony Hillerman's signature, also embossed in gold ink. A heavy weight page of grey paper follows the front fly leaf, marbled in grey. This single page insert contains the typed text, "Of this edition, 100 copies have been numbered and signed by the author; 26 have been lettered and signed by the author for presentation. This is copy 83." The number "83" is hand written and followed by Tony Hillerman's signature, scripted in the same ink as "83."
